Hug Your Skin!

Hello my beautiful friends! I know todays post is different than my usual style post but I thought of sharing something I have been enjoying lately in my skincare routine with you guys. Around 4 years ago I use to pay least amount of attention to my skin due to which I had lot of skin care problems like breakouts, oiliness, larger pores, dark spots.. you name of any issues and I have put my skin through all of the. But then one day I realized the importance of skin care and with daily routine I observed how all of those issues had started eliminating and my skin had started thanking me for taking care of it. Then i realized how important it is on what chemicals are used in these skin care products and noticed how parabens, artificial fragrance, preservatives frees and more organic based products rejuvenated my skin. Why do I look like a GHOST in my Pics!!

Before I tell you girls anything about todays tip I would like to thank my lovely, pretty and loving friend (and my wedding makeup artist) Rashmi Pote (from Mumbai, India) for sharing this amazing tip on how to avoid looking like a ghost in flash photography. What to say girl you solved one of my biggest makeup problem 🙂 xoxo

“White reflects light” (that’s a no brainer 😛 )

After finishing my makeup for any evening/night event when I looked at myself in the mirror I felt beautiful, gorgeous and confidant that im gonna put out my best face and ready to rock!!! But when I look at those pics clicked in flash photography my mind screamed “why im looking like a ghost??!!!” and felt like all those time spent on perfecting my makeup just went in drain. I know we all have been there and used all kinds of filters on those instagram or photo edits apps to avoid the ghost effect. But don’t you worry girls the mystery is solved 🙂

“Avoid using products that contain SPF at night!”

Your daily moisturizers, primers, foundation, concealer, bb cream, cc cream, etc containing SFP have light reflecting particles which risks for flashback in pics, when you are under the flash photography during night/evenings. The higher the SPF in your product, higher is the chances of you looking like a ghost in that flash photography. These products are your best friend during daytime and also helps you protect from sunrays but at night they just turn their backs on you.

“Avoid HD makeup products”

Most of these HD makeup products contain high amount of silica and silver mica, which again reflects lights in flash photography.

“Problem solved”

Use any product, which have a matt finish, which will make your skin look healthy and would not make your skin shine, which reflects flash during night photography. If you still like to use products with SPF at night make sure they are SPF 15 or lower, don’t go for higher SPF ones, and use a tinted settling makeup powder instead of translucent or white powder.

Hope you’ll enjoyed todays quick tip 🙂 Please like if enjoyed this quick and great beauty tip. Also I would love to hear from you guys so leave a comment down below.

Keep Clam And Apply Red Lipstick!!

Ok girls roll up those sleeves, shake off your shoulder cause its time to step out of the neutral lipsticks shades comfort zone and dare to put on those RED lipstick.

Trust me once you find the right red shade for your skin tone girl I bet its no turning back for you. I never use to wear bold lip colors, neutrals were always my best pal but after great failures on trying red lipsticks I took the courage and still remember my trip to Sephora at Prudential center in Boston with my mom to buy my first red lipstick. Cause it was (and will always be) in trend and a classic beauty fashion, everyone was rocking it and I was like OK!! I need to give it a try again and who knew that bold lips would be my new bff 🙂 . When I explained my fear and failures for red lips to the makeup artist at Sephora, he was like “ I got your back girl and trust me you will be in love with red lips after today”. He made me sit my back facing the mirror of makeup booth and once he finished applying, he turned me towards the mirror and BANG!! I was taken aback with the way I looked. To be honest I was a little tiny bit uncomfortable but after few minutes I loved it and couldn’t stop looking at myself in mirror over and over again. And I learnt from him how to find the right red shade and all about different undertones of red shade.

So buckle up and let’s find the right red for you my beautiful friend. First and the most important thing is to know your skins undertone. Cause once you have that mystery solved you’ll not only know what’s the right red shade for you but also what are the best colors and shades suitable for you. Now look at those veins on your wrist, are they blue, green or both? If they are blue then you have a more cooler pink undertone skin. If they appear to be more towards green then you have a very warm yellow undertone skin. And if they appear a mix of both like me then you have a very neutral olive undertone skin and can rock of any color 🙂

If you’re Fair Skin

Coral/Orange undertone reds and dark reds with pink undertones look great on you. They add a shot of color and really brighten your look but aren’t overpowering! The plus point about fair skin is that bold reds and deep colors can look fantastic. You should avoid wearing anything too light shades with yellow undertone cause they would make you look sick and will not compliment your complexion.

Right reds for you

  • NYX Matte Lipstick in “Pure Red”
  • Revlon Super Lustrous RED in “Fire & Ice”
  • YSL Rouge Volupté in No. 16
  • Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Are You Red-dy

If you’re Medium Skin

Anything from true red to pinky-cranberry shades will work well with your neutral/olive undertones. And to get those flirty red lips go for blue undertones.

Right reds for you

  • MAC Lipstick in “RiRi Woo
  • NARS lipstick in “Shanghai Red” (this is my flirty lips red)
  • Rouge Dior Lipstick in Red Premiere
  • CoverGirl TruShine Lipcolor in Valentine Shine
  • Chanel Rouge Allure in Audace

If you’re Dark Skin

Deep/rich burgundy reds look great on you’re skin tone. Also colors like clear reds, deep plump and berries match true to your complexion. Don’t go for ashy tones colors cause they would make you look like a zombie 😛

Right reds for you

  • Lancôme red lipstick Rouge in Love “Rouge Valentine”
  • Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Smoky Rouge
  • L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Red Rhapsody
  • Hourglass

Hope by now you know which is the right red shade for your skin tone 🙂 . So this Valentines Day put on some flirtatious red lips girl and wow your man!!
